As divided as our country may seem right now, with the political race starting to heat up, debates taking place, and primary and caucus season in full swing, it’s good to know that there’s one thing we can all agree upon: our military men deserve the most sincere thanks and the highest level of gratitude we can offer. When you hire a veteran, you know that you’ll be hiring someone with a sense of discipline and integrity that is unmatched. Without our military, we would not have those freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution, and there’s nothing that Americans value more than those rights guaranteed in the First Amendment to the Constitution: religion, press, assembly, petition, and most importantly, speech. Freedom of expression is something to hold dear, and we have our soldiers to thank for guaranteeing that we keep this right.
But what does all this military talk have to do with your chimney? Your chimney is another thing that stands straight and strong, and to make sure that this continues to be the case, who better can you trust than someone who has been trained in the military to have the discipline and sense of integrity to do the job right? If you’re looking for someone to inspect, clean, or repair your chimney and you live in Manchester, Nashua, Concord, and the surrounding communities, then look no further than Ceaser Chimney Service, LLC. John Ceaser is a U.S. military veteran who also is a Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) certified chimney sweep, so you know he has the training and the background to handle any chimney or fireplace problem that might show up. In fact, all the sweeps here at Ceaser Chimney Service are CSIA certified. This means that not only have we had the special training offered by CSIA in order to become certified, but we also have access to all the professional training and updates they have to offer, as well as any educational material and regulatory updates they offer.
What is Included in a Cleaning
One of the big things that we’ll be looking for when we come in for a chimney cleaning is creosote buildup and soot in the chimney flue. The flue is an integral part of your chimney system, performing three major tasks. First, the flue protects the chimney from the gases that are released which may corrode the surface of the interior of your chimney. It can also protect the combustible items that are sitting close to your fireplace from the heat of the fire. It can also make your fireplace burn more efficiently. We’ll want to make sure that your flue liner and the rest of your chimney are free from creosote buildup. We’ll also do a complete check of your flashing, the chimney cap and crown, and the damper system inside your chimney. We’ll take pictures and measurements, and we’ll send a complete report of all our findings, including any areas that might need repair.
Levels of Inspection
There are actually three different levels of inspection that we may complete when we come in for our scheduled appointment. If you have taken care of getting inspections done each year and made sure that all repair work is done, you’ll probably only need a Level One inspection. This means we’ll look over everything that is easily accessible and then do a thorough cleaning. If you’ve missed a cleaning or two or if you have made changes to your heating system, or if you’re selling your home, you’ll need to have a Level Two inspection. During this process, we’ll do a video inspection to get a close look at the interior of your chimney to make sure that there isn’t damage that needs to be repaired. If we find significant damage, we’ll do a Level Three inspection, where we actually may need to take apart sections of the chimney in order to get to the damaged area.
